Movie night with my minions.

Every so often we do movie nights as a little family. Aria has been obsessed with Minions. I have seen it over a hundred times. When coming up with a dinner to go along with our movie night I wanted to get creative. I have seen a million posts on minion snack cakes, cookies, and sandwiches. I wanted to do something different.

I came up with minion flat bread pizza! It is easy and fun for the family to all make their own. You can add different toppings and sauces, make different minions, or even make a Tim pizza.

What we used for toppings:

Market Pantry Pasta Sauce
Shredded cheese ( I chose Colby Jack for the yellow coloring)
Onions
Olives
Garlic

Flat Bread Dough:

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup of almond milk

Combine all the dry ingredients. Mix them together.

 Add the olive oil.

Start mixing, and slowly add the milk. Knead the dough until it is no longer sticky. It takes about 4 minutes of kneading. I used my hands, you can use your mixer.

Divide the dough into four pieces, two if you want bigger pizzas. Roll each piece pretty thin. It is flat bread so it needs to be, well flat.

Heat a pan of oil. Carefully drop dough in the pan until it cooks golden. They will almost look like Utah scones. Lay them on a baking sheet. Oil the the pan so your pizza doesn't get baked on.

Add your toppings. I added sauce and cheese, grabbed a mason jar lid to use as the minions goggle. I used the olives to outline his eye, and the onion as his eyeball. I used another olive as his pupil and little smile line. It turned out really cute. It was so much fun it should have been a crime.

I got most everything I needed at Target. I went there to get the Minions Blu-Ray Metal pak that's exclusive to Target, but in true Target fashion I left with a million other things as well. It is just the perfect one stop shop for our movie night. I was happy to see Minions from Target has 40 minutes of extra content and you get a $5 gift card. We will most likely use that gift card to get a minion stuffed animal for Aria. That girl is obsessed. Target has a large variety of Minion licensed products.

I also decided to make Scarlet Overkill punch ( any clear soda and Market Pantry Cranberry juice) and Tim popcorn ( Popcorn, teddy bear cookies, and minions fruit snacks).

What good is a movie without popcorn? How do you do movie nights? Do you like to do themed dinners beforehand? I would love to see your ideas. Purchase your Minions movie here or your local Target.
