What I'm Wearing:
Halloween is right around the corner. I love DIY costumes vs. the ones you buy from costume stores. They are more custom, better quality and can come right from your own closet. For the past three or four years Brandon and I have made our own costumes. It really gets your creative juices flowing. If your not a costume person, you can always find festive wear. Asos has a great variety of Halloween items. They also carry that extra touch your costume might need.
For my DIY Costume I decided to do the Queen of Hearts. A very popular Halloween character. I found this amazing red dress, used a crown I made for Aria's 1st Birthday, and pumps I had in my closet. You can take it a step further by making playing card jewelry like here. I decided to keep it simple this year. And you can pretty much do anything for the makeup. You can do it simple and elegant like this. Or you can go all out like this. That is one reason I love Halloween. You can do anything you want.
This dress can also be a few different costumes. So if you have more than one party to go to in a night you can just change up accessories. You can be a fifties chick. Do your hair in victory rolls, and an exaggerated winged liner. It can also be red riding hood. Just add a cape (diy) (buy) and a basket to carry.
